The latest addition to our list of must-visit locales? This insanely cool covered bridge home in Nevada City, California, which you can rent for $225 per night on Airbnb.
When you think "covered bridge" you probably picture something dank and dark that a cargo train would creep slowly over in the middle of the night. But this home is pleasantly light-flooded and welcoming, even in its embrace of its industrial roots. Wooden beams frame the corridor-style layout, with exposed ductwork and a lofty ceiling above. A neutral palette makes for a relaxing atmosphere, but leaves room for a few artsy surprises, like basket pendant lights and oversized vases.
