If you've got perpetual wanderlust, the POD-iDladla could be your perfect home. Designed by South African architect Clara da Cruz Almeida, this simple, portable house packs up into a 24-square-meter "pod" and ships from place to place in a box. After receiving it in the mail, you can pop it up almost anywhere.
It just might be the house of the future — innovative in design, and also gorgeously modern and sleek. The minimalist style is bright and sunny, and the designers clearly had storage in mind. Spots for bins and cabinets line the walls, and high ceilings and a lofted sleeping area give it a roomy feel. It's even got a covered patio, a feature you don't always find in smaller houses.
The creators say the home allows people focus on what really matters — "the experience of living" — rather than having to spend time and money worrying about house hunting or caring for a bigger space. Living the simple life is a fine pursuit, but we're almost more impressed that the designers beat IKEA to the punch — flat pack furniture is one thing, but a flat pack home? Now that's just brilliant.
